KNOW YOUR OPTIONS BEFORE CHOOSING A TRAILER. QUAILTY MATTERS.

ALUMINUM VS GALVANIZED STEEL

Aluminum Boat Trailers

All RipTide Trailers are made with Aluminum I-Beams. We take pride in our products and we want to make sure that our customers do as well. Aluminum frames are very strong and are found to be pleasing to many owners. Some choose aluminum boat trailers over steel boat trailers as a weight saving measure. Others prefer Aluminum Trailers because they are less likely to corrode or rust. Aluminum trailers are lightweight and durable. They are an excellent investment and they have a long life expectancy.

Galvanized Boat Trailers
Steel is strong and durable, but is not as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as the shiny aluminium. To help with corosion and rust, the steel goes through a zinc galvanizing process.  The one main disadvantage of Steel over aluminium is the weight.

RipTides's Patented Aluminum I-Beam with Non-slip Surface

We use a custom made I-Beam that includes many features that no other boat trailers manufacture  have. Our Aluminum I-Beams have built-in non-slip surfaces on the top of the I-Beam.  We also use a custom brake line channel that is built into the I-Beams. This serves as a safety channel for all wiring and brake lines.

BUNK STYLES

Bunk Equipped Trailers
One of the main advantages of the bunk trailer is that it is easier to maintain. Bunks provide good support for boat storage if adjusted optimally. It is also easy to load onto a bunk trailer but it may require more than one person to secure the boat onto the trailer. Bunk trailers do tend to require little adjustment once set for a particular boat. Bunks are also known to cause less pressure points on the hull of your boat.

Self-Adjusting Bunks

*RECOMMENDED

These are bunks that lay flat and adjust to make 100% contact with the hull of your boat. This avoids putting any pressure points on your boat. These bunks also rivet back and forth allowing the boat to adjust properly onto the trailer. When the bunks move back and forth it makes it easier to launch and load onto the trailer.

 Self-Adjusting Bunks with Poly Sleeves

*RECOMMENDED

Poly Sleeves are placed around the bunks instead of carpet. One of the main advantages of poly sleeves are that the running gear, such as the springs, hubs, brakes etc does not have to be submerged because once these sleeves get slightly wet, your boat will slide right on and off the trailer.  This is a benefit, especially in salt water, because salt water can cause corrosion to the trailer.  These sleeves will not stick nor rust, like a roller kit might, which gives the customer confidence that the boat will not be damaged.

Roller Equipped Trailers

We do not offer roller packaged for models over 6,000#
Rollers offer quick roll-off launching and drive-on loading. Rollers are the ideal system for those launching and loading in poor conditions. It is also preferred if you launch and load alone. Please note that you must check with your local boat dealer to confirm that your trailer may travel on a roller trailer. Not all boats are designed to withstand the pressure points that a roller trailer may cause.

Step Hull Trailers
Boats with a step hull require bunk trailers. In order to properly build the trailer to fir the customers boat; we must have the correct measurments of the steps. The trailer will then be custom made per specifications provided. Slight adjustments may be required.
